Awesome! Knowing my gerbils they would get more fun chewing on it than running through and in it. Haha!

My mama's bringing me home some masking tape. I went out and bought a 50 pound bag of play sand earlier today. Jeez, it was heavy!
Anyway, all these great designs have got me interested in making my own. Soo, that's what I'll be doing for the next...ummm...48 hours? Hahahaha. And, being the perfectionist I am, I'll probably try to out-do y'all. ROFL, I'm sure mine's gonna look like complete crap.
If anyone has any words of advice, I'd really appreciate it because I need all the help I can get with this. It'll be a challenge, that's for certain. : P
Also, do I have to use masking tape? Would regular tape be ok to use or would the flour/water mixture not stick to it?
Thankss. <3

I don't think it really matters what kind of tape you use. Just as long as it's not chewed on. I"ve not made one (haven't had the time, though mayve Eric and I will make one soon, for my photo ops) but just remember that when a gerbil doesn't want to come out- it won't! So make it in a way that you can remove the stubborn gerbil after play time! You don't want to make something awesome, and then find out it's really just "home base" in a "catch me if you can" game. Also remember that there are chewable things like plaster and glue. So this probably shouldn't really be an in-the-tank-item. If you want something similar for in the tank, you can use home made (or store baught) non toxic clay. You can make it yourself and then bake it!

That looks really good. Don't think I could make that just too fiddly.

Does this recipe sound safe to make a clay house for my gerbils tank?
2 Cups Flour 1 Cup Salt 1 Cup Water 1 1/2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil

Hopefully my picture I post works. =P This is the rodent cave I created. It took me and my mom about three days to build, but a total of about 5 hours. All my rescued rodents love it! Thanks for the idea!
