Hey, I'm new to the forum and am interested in entering my gerbils in some online shows. I am wondering when the next show is as the other one was already over before I got here so I wasn't able to participate. If anyone could let me know when the next show might be or if there are any other good online shows for no or minimal cost that would be appreciated. Thanks

Will there be another one on here? I would like to join in just for the fun but know that Bournville especially won't do very well and that Marshmallow while I like white is a rather boring colour for most people, Fudge is gorgeous no matter what!

egerbil had one for Halloween and Christmas. However, I wouldn't expect another one on egerbil to be coming up too soon, due to some 'site maintenance stuff' going on at the minute.. redsky, don't expect them not to win because of their colours I entered the one on egerbil, and won in a few categories, and I don't have particularly 'exotic' colours/coats Here is a link to the entrants and winners of that show! - gerbilsociety.com/showcase/All you need is some cute gerbils, and you're a-go

There will most likely be a virtual show this year by the AGS.
I may hold one for this forum, however last year there were very few participants.
Egerbil usually holds one.
Now these different shows play by different rules.
The AGS virtual show is a tougher show to enter and win, the gerbils are scored as they would be in a real show. Most all the AGS breeders/showers also enter this competition, so its a bit tougher
I held one on this forum last year, and the gerbils are still scored as they would be in the AGS ring, however I place far more emphasis on how well you chose a place to take pictures, did you get the right poses, is the gerbils coat clean, is the gerbil nervous or relaxed? as oppossed to how many white hairs they have, how well their whiskers fan out, if they have all the right toenails, how fluffy their tail is,
e gerbil is very pet friendly. gerbils are not judged on color or confirmation they're judged on how cute they are

I would definitely enter in a Forumshow this year. I unfortunately missed it last year.

We used to do shows more often, but we lost our judge. We also used to do a contest for the banner pic at the top of the forum. With the new forum changes, I cannot seem to figure out how to get that to reappear If I can figure out how to do that, then I'd like to do that again. I enjoyed the seasonal (editing allowed) pictures we put up there. I would need a member to volunteer to do it though. With just 2 staff members, who both have lives outside of the forum, it's hard to keep up with it. So, if I can figure out how to get the banner pic... are there any takers?
