Hi, I need some advice please experts! I thought I had two female gerbils but it turns out one is a male!! I didnt bother to check as assumed the people in the shop knew what they were doing!!? They are my first gerbils, so I'm learning as I go along. I've discovered they have babies, which from looking at pictures, appear to be approx 12-15 days old. I will split the male from them but I don't want him to be lonely. is it possible to leave him in the cage as they are all happy, and when the babies are weaned, put one of the males in with him for company? I'll keep one female for company of my female and give the others to the pet store as they are happy to have them! I know the female could/may get pregnant again, if not already, but I'll deaal with that when it happens. I thought this would make it easier for my adult male to stay, rather than separate him now and then have to reintroduce him to a male later on! Will this work?? Thanks x

Your female is probably already pregnant again as they breed again straight after/during birth :/
