my pair came with their names - sadie and sybil. their original owners named them after characters from steven universe and i /think/ the harry potter character (trelawny).
my oldest's name came from a video game - he's named after this ghoul named crowley that i was fond of.
the trio's names are ash, soot, and mags - ash, soot, magma. my degree was in geology e oe;;
and blitz's name came because the night i brought her home, she scrambled on top of my head, jumped off into my hands, then onto the floor, and ran around between my room and my sibling's room for an hour and a half while we tried to catch her with treats and cozy boxes. 8)

Our gerbils, Kirby and Yoshi, recently passed away this month. We named them after our favorite Nintendo characters. Our two new gerbils are named Gandalf (from Lord of the Rings) and Chewie (Chewbacca from Star Wars).

Darwin- Named after the scientist Logan- Named after the X-Men character (Wolverine) Theo- Named after the main character in Children of Men
I had tried to think of names that went together and I liked. At first I tried Lord of the Rings characters but didn't think they fit them well enough. Then I wanted to go with scientists (I got them in college and was a biology major) but had trouble finding three male names I liked. But I wanted a Darwin so kept it. I had recently watched Children of Men for the first time so Theo came to mind. Then I just started thinking through all the TV shows and movies I liked until I landed on Logan.

Mouse got his name because my mom said he looked like a mouse. (he's albino) But, since comparing him to my mouse he looks totally different. Yahtzee was a name I saw when I was reading the reviews of gerbils on the Petsmart website. The name sounded cute, and so my grey gerbil was named Yahtzee. Gingersnap was named after Hoppinghammy's robo hamster.

My gerbils name is Digger, i named him digger because the first time i got him, the first thing he did what dig And i belive he is a nutmeg (If thats how you spell it) I named my very first gerbil Digger for the same reason, he loved digging. I named the other gerbil living with him, Blaze. He was so fast. Loved to climb up my folding table and climb into the drawer. He could never find his way out so I to open it to let him out. More often than not, he had gone to the toilet. I believe I was lied to about the age of digger, which I think was less than a year. He wasn't as active as Blaze and was slower, and unfortunately died less than a month of me having him.

My daughter named our "girls" when she was 6. Pew Princess (girl) Argente golden Dolly (she insisted on keeping the name even when he was discovered to be a boy) The litter from these alleged girls, my kid at 7 named these so far: Lilac/sapphire Sprinkles... (Baby girl) she is solid grey despite the name lmao Argente golden Sweetie (baby boy) Two pew girls unnamed and one argente golden girl unnamed as they will be leaving us when they are of age. I asked her not to name those girls to try and no get too attached... but I'm the one sad they will be leaving ๐

I have had two pairs, Pepper (who sadly died about a month ago) and Salt, and Cookie and Cream puff. I like names that look like them, but also relate to each other so I coincidentally ended up with food names.

My 3 gerbils, two of whom are now passed were called Sherlock, Mycroft and Watson. Watson died in November from a chest infection but was a very smart gerbil who could jump out of carry boxes with the lid propped shut. Mycroft died 1 week before Easter from a respiratory virus but had been an elusive gerbil who could be very aggressive or very gentlemanly. Sherlock who is still alive is just a bit of a mess, he's insane and always knew how to annoy his brothers, even when he was in another cage due to a scent gland operation and repercussions which meant they had to stay separate or the others would try to kill him. He knows how to be a gerbil but just can't manage it yet, even as a 3 year old gerbil!

I waited quite a while to get mine as I haven't had them before and wanted to have everything completely ready. The weekend before I bought them I had had a lovely holiday in the Lake District, staying in the town of Keswick. No other name came to mind and it just stuck, and I decided on Kendal to keep with the location theme and to make it sound snappy as a K&K pairing. Kendal is the pictured one, Keswick's black with a white snip

I named my two gerbils Meredith Grey and Alexis Karev because I love Greys anatomy and both of my gerbils have little white tips on their hands that make it look like they are wearing gloves! like doctors I just call my gerbils Karev and Grey though most of the time

My gerbils are named Eowyn and Poppy because I really like LOTR and Poppy has a broken white stripe on her belly that somehow made me think Poppy was the perfect name for her, but I like it.
