haha, ours wag their tails here and there. I have read it to be a sign of pleasure and a sign of aggression. There was a post on here somewhere before about it, but I don't think we ever came to a conclusion! lol

Ours only wag their tails when they're agitated/scared/confused/some other overwhelming nervous situation

I've never seen DIgby wag her tail ever until that one time yesterday so I cant really tell if it was happy or agitated.

Mine wags in a circle when I'm feeding treats when I hold him Isn't that a balance thing? Like a propeller? Or is it the quick whippy back and forth , side to side movement ?

I've seen my previous clans tail wag, usually when sitting or standing up. The latest ones not so much until today! Pablo wagged his tail when out which is very funny as he only has half a tail ( door injury) and a few minutes ago, I saw Midnight do it. They chewed the ventilation circle off a tank leaving a round hole, so it's used as a play tank and they enter via the circular hole. Midnight was standing on a log outside the tank with his tail INSIDE the hole and he wagged it! He's a little black Gerbie and it looked really cute.

Digby wagged her tail like in a snake motion in an S shape and she thumped it against the glass when I gave her that toilet paper roll.

Dunno what's happening. Bertie is now running around and I saw him wag his tail. His front paws were about half an inch off the ground and they went up and down in time to the tail wag! It wasn't a hugely grand tail wag.
I got the impression he smelt something ( another gerbil ) on the laminate.
