Mine absolutely adore Lego House by Ed Sheeran!! Whenever I play it they come running tot he top section of the cage! Its a lovely song, try it x My guinea pig likes Lego House! None of my animals have favored much of my music, but they all seem to enjoy the majority of Ed Sheeran songs.

So lots of studies show that mice seem to learn better when exposed to classical music (hence Baby Einstein and such). They also show that mice are extremely bothered and can become mildly psychotic when exposed to really loud, really heavy rock music. It's actually used as an aversive stimulus in certain experiments that test for other things. I've noticed that my gerbil, Chip, loves the song Fur Elise by Beethoven. Whenever I play it, he sort of stops and looks around, as if he's transfixed. But he doesn't seem to be freezing in fear. Other types of music make him noticeably anxious and he appears indifferent to others. But he always pays attention when Fur Elise comes on. It's adorable! My gerbils also seem to like Debussy and Mozart quite a bit. Our little white gerbil, Whitie, loved Debussey and other Impressionists, as well as Mozart. His favorite was Claire de Lune. When he first heard Claire de Lune, he stood in a trance, staring at the sound bar the music was coming from. When the other gerbils wanted to play with him, he would run away and find a place he could listen undisturbed. I played classical music for him the day he died, placing the iPhone next to his cage. He lied down near the iPhone, pointing his head right at it.

Some really sweet and funny stories here And that's a lovely story about Whitie :') I don't normally play music at home anymore, so I don't know what my boys like. Anyone else tried music with their gerbils? PS Good thread revival PPS Just seen you're a new member, welcome to the forums!

I watch a YouTuber so much that my gerbils know her voice by name! My gerbils are pretty brave, they don't mind the sound of the vacuum at all and they aren't afraid of any music or videos I watch. They don't really care about music or loud noises because it's part of their everyday life so I haven't found a song that they care that much about. But, they seem more relaxed when I sing to them (not that I am a good singer), probably because there is no background music. One of my gerbils, who lives alone, knows his name and knows my mothers name as well! It's so cute because my mom will call to him when she visits (which she does a lot) and he will drop everything and run over to her! I am definitely going to test out different songs, this is all very interesting!
