Our two gerbils droppings have changed in colour from dark to pale in the last week. Do they have a problem? Does anyone know?

That might be a problem (not always)! Have you changed their food or something?
How do they look and act? Are they still active, curious? Do they feed well? How are their eyes, nose and fur?

We have not changed the food at all, and they both look quite normal as usual. However, we have intoduced a deep bed area full of wood shavings recently, and we have noticed them chewing at the shavings. Perhaps this could explain it?

That can be a possibility! But if they are vivid, active, and look healthy in general, you should not worry!
