Sick/swollen/tumor or weight gain?

My daughter's gerbil, Cinnamon, appears to have put on weight on its hind section, specifically towards his genital area. That area appears to be swollen or enlarged. We've haven't altered his diet and he still continues to poop as normal. He has shown no other symptoms and continues to be active and eats.

Does this sound like a scent gland tumor? Based on the pictures of these tumors on the web, we can't tell. Any other ideas? Thanks

Is it not just it's scrotum? If the gerbil is still young it will grow until it is fully grown!

But if you're not sure, it is always good to see a vet!
