One of our has noticeably longer fur than the rest, how can fur length be a judging factor?

The standards describe "the ideal show gerbil". Which should have short fur. If a gerbil entered in a show has significantly longer fur than usual, then yes it's going to lose points. But we're not exactly breaking out microscopes and tiny rulers.

Ahh well, he's the smartest of them, won't upset him by telling him that. May try enter some of the others. I presume it's open to the whole world, I didn't see any restriction for just America.

I might try and enter. Though what is the difference between Breed and pet? I could be wrong, but I think 'Breed' is judged by the technical stuff- conformation, color, coat, etc.; while 'Pet' is judged on cuteness, personality, creativity, or something? Not completely sure. But it is pretty easy to enter- you should try it!

Can't believe I somehow missed out on this! Just a few weeks ago I read something about online ones, and that there should be one coming up soon-ish, yet failed to see this until today Oh well, maybe next time!

it says results in the pet class section but I don't see which photos actually won each category? Or have they not been decided on yet?
