Hi all, Just was just wondering what colours are most common/ less common in your area. I'm from somerset UK and most common colours I normally see in shops are honey, all white and all black. These seem to be more common than agouti!. That is of course when shops actually have gerbils in. Gerbils seem to be very hard to come by in somerset as there is no breeders and very rarely any in shops either. Which is one of the main reasons I started breeding gerbils. I travelled a very very long way to get my gerbils Which was fine as I know they would not of been related. Sorry rambling here ... So what would you say are most common/ uncommon or rare colours? Many thanks

Where I live, (the south of the US) I normally see blacks and PEWs. Agoutis are also fairly common. There is the occasional Argente. And, only once in my many, many pet store visits, I saw a Burmese. Something about her caught my eye and she is now the mother of two wonderful litters Years ago I also saw a lilac. She was my first gerbil along with her Argente sister. Those are the only colors I've seen in a pet store, (there aren't really any breeders in our state,) and I also think the PEWs and blacks here are more common than agoutis.

In Puerto Rico I've seen agoutis, red eyed white and spotted black and white gerbils. Gerbils are very uncommon here.

In Birmingham, UK I've seen Burmese, pied black, nutmeg/ silver nutmeg, slate, grey and normal agouti and black/red eyed white.. There must be good breeders around here! Only ones you don't tend to see are Topaz, red foxes, lilac etc
But saying that, I adopted the slate and Burmese as they were the only ones I'd come across so they are probably more rare

I see a lot of gold and agouti in Canada. I did have a doveish colored one and a lilac colored one before. To get any fancy colors you have to go to a breeder here, never find one in a pet store. I'd say pied is the most rare here. I've never seen one!

Agoutis and blacks are the most common but I've seen spotted, pied of different colours and PEW's with the odd Burmese. I live in BC, Canada.
