I had a DEH born last year(June 12th)and she has molted weird. She has lighter colored fur now near her demarcation line and near the stump of her tail. I can't provide pictures, but was wondering if anyone had any pictures of a DEH with ee(f) I could see? Ive never even seen an ee(f) gerbil to my knowledge and know nothing about them really so any direction would be appreciated

Thanks ShootingStar! My girl does look like the DEH fading in your pictures. I've read that a DEH with ee(f) should not have visible black ticking though. Is that true? Because my girl does have black ticking. She's definitely got patches of fading fur though.

Usually they don't have ticking, but it varies. DEHs with Cc[h] and C[chm] can fade too as they get older.

Well I don't think she has ch or chm. Her father had CC and mom had chm, but she had a light DEH sister who was much lighter then her. Her ticking is not as dark as others I've seen or the ticking in pictures of others. The patches of lighter fur also have no ticking in them.

She is also pregnant right now (father is a dove with EE it appears.) Her last litter was agouti, black, argente cream, and lilac. If she has e(f) and passes it along, what effect would it have on the non-ee coat? Would it cause fading?

No major effect on an E- coat.

Darn. I was hoping to be able to identify it if I saw it. Thanks!

I finally got a phone with some picture quality. She hasn't faded much more. Toward her tail you can see some light patchiness. Does anyone think I'm dealing with e(f) or a weird molt?
