Hey all!
Awesome to see a post here about other rodent species, exotic or otherwise. In fact, I've been trying to get my hands on a pair of either Lesser Egyptian Gerbils or a pair of Pygmy Jerboas for least a DECADE.
But, I hear either of these adorable critters are difficult to keep in captivity and breeding them, to get a viable litter AND then get them to adulthood, is even more impossible.
I reside in Texas, but if anyone has a male/female pair of either they are willing to sell, I'd LOVE to make arrangements to do so! I once saw a pair of Jerboas in a Science teachers High School classroom, and he had promised me first pick of their first litter, but then I never heard from him. When I tried to contact him through the school about three months later, he was no longer at there. I was terribly disappointed. Been trying to find some ever since.
SO if anyone has them or knows anyone that does, please toss me an email at Grimalkia@aol.com Would LOVE to work something out!
BTW, in case anyone wants to know that these little guys look like, here's their pictures::
Thanks!

You appear to be confused. Your picture of a "Lesser Egyptian Gerbil" is a Lesser Egyptian Jerboa. Lesser Egyptian Gerbils are very different, and look like this: www.flickr.com/photos/aviadbar/4488923910There's no such thing as a "Lesser Pygmy Jerboa". That's a picture of a Long-eared Jerboa. Not sure which pygmy jerboa species you were interested in. Baluchistan, maybe? If you're looking for jerboas, I'd suggest finding facebook groups for jerboas. They're not closely related to gerbils at all, and very, very rare in the US.

Ah.. well, then I suppose I've been looking for Jerboas then. I merely went out on the net to find a picture of what I was looking for based on what I remembered that teacher having.
Those were the titles of the pictures I tagged that someone else had saved them as, so didn't occur to me to question if they were accurate.
Thanks!
