Hey there! Okay, let's see here.. Shot in the dark BUT.. I'm going to say Spotted Dove, as spotting lightens the coat color as well and that seems pretty faint. Could also be a Spotted Sapphire, but without a closer picture, little hard to tell with the greys. Definitely not a Spotted Lilac.
For the other, looks like Slate.
Happy Gerbil-ing!

If he has black eyes (with a red tint) - and his tank mate is a slate - then the underwhite dilute gene is around - so it is possible he is actually a polar fox/silver nutmeg which would explain the pale colour with spotting and the darker patches on the tail. Or maybe even some form of diluted gray agouti - although he only looks like this in a few of the clearer images on the black shelf.
The light isn't too good though, so difficult for me to tell for sure from these pictures.
Sorry.

Lol! I was staring hard at the pictures and totally missed "black eyes with a red tint" was mentioned.. If that's the case, betty is more accurate than I am. Can't be Dove, Sapphire, or Lilac then.
Are the pups litter mates?

Definitely agree that Severus is slate, rather than black. Was wondering if it is possible for Albus to be a dove or sapphire, as I believe these colours normally have very red or pink coloured eyes and his are black unless he looks into a light, then they go a very dark red, almost wine colour.

I was told they were litter mates, however I am a little unsure if this is the truth as Severus is much smaller than Albus. I did get them from a pet store rather than a breeder, as there are no breeders around where I live, and so I'm never quite sure what to believe with pet stores. They were in a tank with 2 agoutis and I was told all 4 were brothers.

Size is very variable even in the same litter - and this can extend into their weights as clan mates too.
As for the agoutis as siblings - it is possible as Agouti is the most common colour so most litters contain some.
Hmm?
