Hi, my gerbil Paddy is a little over 3 years old (I have other threads saying they are four, but I had gotten the year wrong, they are definitely three). I weigh him around the 10th of each month and his weight has stayed consistent for several months but has suddenly dropped, what should I do? He has a fairly large tumour growing on his nose but it doesn't seem to bother him too much, he is eating normally. Here are his weights from the past few months: August - 87g September - 85g (-2) October - 90g (+5) November - 96g (+6) December - 79g (-17) His brother Oliver's weight is consistent with his usual this month (89g).

have you seen him eat? it could be causing issues now, so do watch him eat. I would give him more of the fatty seeds and nuts but not too much, or even add oats, afew per day until he gains his weight back.

Yes, I have seen him eating. Thank you for the help, I suspected that the only thing I could do was give him extra treats but I thought I'd check just to be sure. Thank you!
