Happy Christmas! Keswick is well but I notice she has been itching a lot and has gotten a couple of scabs from scratching so much in the past couple of months. I don't see any evidence of mites but her skin looks a little on the flaky and dry side. Is there anything I can do to help this? Will stop giving her sand baths for a couple of weeks to see if that helps. I found this online and was wondering if it's safe and effective for the dry skin? www.amazon.co.uk/Johnsons-Veterinary-Products-Tree-Cream/dp/B000OLUTA6

glad Keswick is well, not sure what is safe to use for dry skin, it could be due to heating where you live but she needs to stay warm. No sand baths may help, not sure what may help her from itching too much other than try to keep her busy with tubes, etc. If you do try something, the less ingredients the better and more natural stuff but no essential oils, although maybe a dab of olive or coconut oil on a qtip on the scabs may help?? just a thought.

Hi! Maybe try a very gentle lotion that’s nontoxic and pretty natural. Only a bit and make sure to rub it in gently. There shouldn’t be any extra left over on her skin. As far as brands stay far far away from bath and body works or ay scented and go for more gentle ones like Eucerin, Cetaphil, Aveeno. Or I think it’s spelled Ceurulean. Hope this helps and sorry if I’m not making any sense. ( also this may kinda figure out things, but how is said gerbil?)

Thanks. I don't think it's heating cause our heating is timed on and off throughout the day and my house can be quite cold but I try to keep it as warm as I can. Will try a tiny dab of coconut oil on the skin as it's good for hydration, but I don't want her licking it off.
