Hello, One of my gerbils seem to have a red lump/ abscess right between his testicles. He behaves normal and doesn't seem to be bother by it. I'm not sure it is something normal as I am pretty sure it comes and goes ( he had it yesterday but I didn't see it later on in the day...) Thank you, Nazz Here it what is looks like: pasteboard.co/IOavaLD.jpgpasteboard.co/IOavxqY.jpg

I don’t know what that is, all I know is that’s not normal and you should get that checked out if you can.

I haven’t ever read anything about this before, although my gerbils are female. It does say this on the National Gerbil Society advice sheet: ‘Females that have had many litters occasionally get a prolapse of the uterus. Males occasionally get swollen penises. A vet should treat both.’ gerbils.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Leaflet-3-Health.pdfNot sure if this is the issue though.

would he let you treat it with something, like manuka honey on a qtip? if it's some type of sore, that may help it heal up.
