Hi, more developments with Keswick! She's been OK but I have noticed a little scab on her scent gland (only tiny, like a quarter of a pea) and the gland looks a little more crusty than usual. Am not sure if she has just scratched it or if it's the start of a tumour. Will add a picture. She does scratch a lot too..
If it is a tumour I don't know if it's right to put her through an operation at the age of 3 or if she should just stay on metacam. She's been squeaking and whimpering a little these past couple of days which i know is a sign of sadness. She's eating well but not digging or chewing cardboard any more.

Excuse my hideousness lol. That's what the scab looks like and the second is is cause she is gorgeous ^.^ She's pottering about at the moment, chewing and having a drink and making a nest so doing quite well. The pictures are less blurry when you click on them.

The vet wasn't worried and prescribed an ointment which has improved the appearance of it so far. He also said that her bulge definitely felt liquid and that medication isn't necessary for that sort of cyst. Happy days!

Thanks, the only concern now is that she doesn't really chew cardboard anymore or dig against the walls of the tank any more, just hangs out in her nest a lot more. She has her pleasures still like eating and shredding tissues and sand baths. Is this normal for a 3 year old who is just slowing down in life or could she be a bit depressed?

it could be both, how are her teeth? do you give her new things to check out? sometimes just a new box will interest them.

Vets said her teeth are fine. I try and give her different things to do but she's not as bothered. I also let her run on my bed and room often. The past few dayards she's been whimpering and squeaking quietly as they do when they're sick and it's breaking my heart
