Thank you for the input! He does look a lot like those colorpoint agoutis. I have a PEW I think I'm going to breed him with. A very intereating potential mish mash or genes.

Yes, that dark chevron on the tail usually indicates a CP agouti of one kind or another - and the toenails can tell apart the normal and the grey cps - but I never remember which way around they are!!
Anyway - yes, certainly breeding to a PEW could throw up plenty of goodies - although one of my 'unknown gene' crosses between a PEW mum and a LCP Slate threw up ALL CP Ags - all 13 of them!!!!!
Mum was AAUU and dad was EEPP.
Luckily mum was also spotted (surprise!!) so at least the pups looked slightly different.

Could a non-colourpoint grey agouti have a chevron on the tail? Lily has always had one (as seen here: i.imgur.com/eKlqIGR.jpg), but I'm pretty sure she's a grey agouti.

Do you know, I can't remember the exact rules - and looking at pictures online I can't seem to see a pattern. Most images of Grey Agoutis don't show the chevron so clearly - but then not all images labelled as L/CP are showing a clear chevron either?
I just know that all my pups were CP Agouti (dark nails) and all had a very clear chevron.
Maybe I need to go back through again and look at more pictures and make notes - there are of course 6 different versions of the same sort of colour!!!
