Ah, well I am sure you will stay in contact with the buyer and they can update you in a few months if it molted into anything really unusual?
If you are planning to breed again from that pair we could always look into the genes more closely if you were interested?

Here's one from me born 01.15.21 that may be a similar classification. Father is BEH and mother is black rex (no concrete data on lineage). The father BEH is from a BEH male and black female (normal fur). I don't know what to classify this one's color yet. I suspect the over-all color will become darker. imgur.com/zhWXQtfimgur.com/MIBvoN9imgur.com/LaC0Fhh

Yep - looks normal nutmeg genes there (can't comment on the rex part).
Edit with genes assumed so far:
DEH dad - Aa C* ee P* Uw* Black mum - aa C* Ee P* Uw* Re+
Nutmeg pup - aa C* ee P* uw*
Also just re-reading Shooting Stars page on Rexoid - I think my little Schimmel guy must be double rex - he is very much more curly that the standard rexes shown there. I only got him as a grown up - and he hasn't ever moulted bald anytime.

betty It depends on the line, some are far curlier than others! I've seen single rexes from a European breeder that I would have sworn had to be doubles from the curl, but I completely believe the breeder that they're not messing with doubles. Just years of selection. There also seem to be two different rexoid mutations that were brought to the US, but I'm still tracking down info on that. The second mutation is very rare and the line it's in has some persistent behavior problems, so I don't know that it'll go anywhere, but when it's been crossed with the original import line, they haven't produced the double rexes you'd expect.

Wow - really. I love that you know all these things!
I am very intrigued that two rexoid mutations happened around the same time - but are seemingly unrelated? Cool.
I wouldn't say my rex had behavioural issues as such - but he was totally freaked out by everything and almost unhandleable for a good while. I later split him with my other rex (from the same breeder) and they went together fine and have been paired up ever since. Must be both nearly 3 now - and he has totally calmed down.
