Hi I have decided to create an enriching cage for my gerbils. I have put earth down and grown gerbil safe seeds in it but I am looking for some other things I might be able to grow in it? ( I am growing grass seeds and clover seeds)

Nasturtium comes to mind, people can eat it to.

Violets are edible--and often used as decorations or ingredients in candies/cakes.
Of course, edible for humans doesn't always mean edible for other animals (and vice-versa).

You could look at gerbil food ingredients to see what seeds are safe (and grow those), e.g Erin's ark food
But, depending what part of the world you're in you might want to be careful about growing hemp!

Yes, I often read the Ingredients Listing of treats and things online so I can see what they have included and in what proportions - so I know what gerbils belonging to 'someone' have at least eaten.
Ingredients can tell a good story too - about what you are paying for - so always take a peek.
Quite often something souuding lovely - like strawberry and cornflower nibbles - are like 60%+ wheat (which is already in their food mix), or they are filled out with corn, sunflower seeds and dandelion (things you can easily get yourself) with only a fraction of the 'nice' ingredients in them - like less than 1% cornflower. (That's like buying a whole family-sized bar of fruit and nut Cadbury to only have half a hazelnut in one corner.
I am super fussy about what I will pay for - and the first thing I do with any treat is flip it over and find the percentages of ingredients. Mind you - once I find something good - they have me for life...
