Interesting point, is Pepsi darker than Max? Btw, I just weighed the boys last night, and now I'm getting concerned. They're 10 mths old. Here is the more recent weight data. (UK date format ) Avon ... date .... Blake 81g ... 24/11/20 .. 84g 81g ... 14/12/20 .. 83g 93g ... 12/01/21 .. 93g 93g ... 3/02/21 ... 92g 94g ... 26/02/21 .. 91g 98g ... 15/03/21 .. 95g 107g .. 6/04/21 ... 102g Levelled off about the end of Feb, then recently shot up! Not beyond 120g yet, but getting there. Should I be concerned and reduce their feeding? Currently 20g/day for them both, plus 3 (sometimes 2) treats per day each (e.g today they had 1 sunflower seed, 1 goji berry and 1 mealworm). Or are they still not at an age where their weight should level off? Pepsi is a much lighter colour than Max so I thought maybe the darker colouring might make them look bigger. Our boys are heading the same way weight wise, they have been increasing each time I weigh them. I did reduce their treats a little, and they plateaued slightly, but refraining from the treats probably didn't last long in all honestly. They are just too cute! I need to weight them again and see if they have started to increase again. Both Blake and Avon seem to be increasing similarly which to me would seem like it's a more normal weight gain rather than something to be concerned about. How old are your boys now Mark?

I mentioned they age in the post you quoted . They were born early June last year (birth date in my sig), so they are over 10mths old now. I've had a conversation with Thea about this, so as of about a week ago I restricted their treats to 2 day. I think that's likely to only have a small affect to be honest, but I'll find out on the 20th as I'll be weighing them then (it will have been 2 weeks at that point). It's their sudden increase in weight gain that has me concerned, rather than their absolute weight (so far anyway!). If they keep on shooting up I shall be cutting their feed to 15g/day. I don't want to cut treats down further as they are still not very tame at all, and like you said, it's difficult to resist their cuteness

So on further weighing of my boys :- Avon ..................... Blake 108g .. 20/04/21 .. 101g 112g .. 04/05/21 .. 105g That's after cutting treats from 3/day to 2, so after levelling off they've put on 4g (I've noticed before that their weight goes up in steps). As a side note, I've noticed that when the lid is off (so no mesh to grab hold of), Blake struggles to jump up onto the ledge now, although Avon is heavier and doesn't usually have any problems with that! But it seems their weight is still increasing, so I think I'll cut their feed from 20g/day (for both) to 15g, does that seem reasonable? Or am I jumping the gun?

Either my memory is getting way worse or I'm reading a post and only digesting half of the info, sorry about that, Mark. How are the boys weights this fortnight?
Blake is the same colouring as Max is on his back. I'm beginning think it's not a very slimming colour, whereas Avon being dark and Pepsi being very light obviously works out better for a fashionable gerbil!
Is Blake still struggling to jump up or was it just a one off?

Lol Sorry I'd replied to Thea's gerbil weight thread with more recent info as I hadn't got a reply here, although it's now causing confusion by splitting up the info , and I don't want to hijack her thread too much! Anyway, I added an update here - gerbilforum.proboards.com/post/303758/thread
