Hi again,
So, today at 1:17 PM, I lost my final gerbil. He was actually my favorite of the three I had - he was black pied? while the others were nutmeg. His brother (Zero, I posted about him before) died in January, and their father, died in July. It has been very sad losing all of them but I understand they don't live forever. Just the death of the gerbil is expected but still so sudden... All three of mine died peacefully of what I assume is old age, they were over 3 years old.
The thing I wanted to talk about was... I do not regret a single moment I had with them. I am so glad I got them back in 2018 - they were lots of fun and having them was an adventure, I'm glad I took the chance. Even though someone would think that gerbils aren't as big of a pet as a dog or a cat, I don't think so. They were very important and I loved them, they just don't live as long.
Though it hurts to let them go, I need to. I still have their terrarium in my room, just looking at it hurts. There's no sounds of walking on and digging the bedding, drinking from the bottle. When I come home or wake up, I no longer need to tend to my gerbils. It's definitely going to take some time to get used to it, but I need to look back positively. It's just going to take a lot of time to realize that they're no longer here.
Though I loved having gerbils, I think my "Gerbil Dynasty" has ended. I don't plan on getting more gerbils (they're hard to get here anyways, but that's beside the point). These three gerbils were enough, and I am happy that I gave them the best life I ever could have, and I can always look back and reminiscence the days. Getting used to basically no gerbils anymore will take a while.
Thank you for reading.

soo sorry to hear about your gerbils but over 3 is a good life, take care and know you gave them a good life. Maybe at some point you will decide to get gerbils again, i know at some point i won't be able to get gerbils so i enjoy each day with the three i have right now, i couldn't imagine being without at least one.

Sorry to hear your last gerbil passed away , but it was good they lasted a good age (for gerbils). Btw, just curious, why don't you think you'll get more gerbils? (sourcing problems aside).

I have found stillborn babies before, and it was plenty sad, and I am sure one that you’ve met is much worse. I cannot believe animals don’t go to heaven, as wonderful ones sure deserve to My cat comes by me when I am upset, and my sweet Oakley gerbil with crawl in my hair and make me forget why I was upset
