Sorry, I haven't managed to yet but will make sure I mention it to my daughter. Hopefully she can remind me or have her phone handy (which is far more likely). I swear I never seem to have my phone on me when they are being cute or funny.
Have any of the people on the German forum said anything else or has the thread stopped?
We were in P@H the other week and they had 2 pairs of gerbils in the rehoming centre both with the smallest wheel size ever. I appreciate they must've been babies but I was really shocked.

Not been to the german forum lately (or any forum to a lesser degree), but I think the thread had stopped.

I finally have a video of Pepsi running, albeit a brief one. I'm hoping I can remember how to upload this properly.

Unless you've got a youtube account, don't worry about embedding it, just post a link. [edit] Never mind, I dug it out i.imgur.com/c7F9IXN.mp4
Cute , and yea she's running with her tail slightly raised, which makes sense actually.

I don't know if one could argue that he runs like that because he's spent a long time running in a wheel that may be considered questionable to those discussing it on the German forum. I really need to see what Max is like but he's not one for running unless it's a mad dash in which case he's that fast you can't really see.

If you have a high end phone, some of those can take slow motion videos (60 FPS).

I just moved my 3.5 year old boy from a 30cm to a 33cm wheel. He somehow outgrew the old one in the last year despite his age.
He had been poking his head out of the wheel while running, and running less and less until it was only a sprint or two per day.
I then took a leap and got a 33cm wheel based on some advice on rennmaus.de, and sure enough, he is super active, running an hour or more a day again, and running straight. His poking his head out and running sideways was his sign that the wheel was uncomfortably small for him.
This wheel also has a running surface that is 3cm wider (8cm to 11cm). He has been using the whole surface. I feel really good about the upgrade.

I do have a photo of spinal deformity from a 25cm wheel if you're interested btw. And an after once they were given 30cm.
And as much as I hate to say it, rennmaus.de isn't cutting edge anymore (a lot of people have left for a variety of reasons). If you want current care info in Germany, instagram is the way to go. I suggest "rennmaeusemitherz". She runs a rescue and can answer in English.

That's interesting, particularly about your own Gerbil, Avon runs less on the wheel now compared to when he was younger, I'd assumed he had just grown out of his obsession (he used to run on it hours at a time in the early days!) But perhaps he finds it uncomfortable to run for so long now?
And yes I'd be interested in the photos, are they of your old boy? Could you post it here? Re Instagram, I don't have an account with that.
