Following on from a conversation in the mod section.....
Test (1 of the links that doesn't work on 1st viewing for me until I edit>BBcode>preview or go back to the thread, very weird!). What do you guys see?
Firstly can anyone see the photo linked above? Or do you just see the broken photo link icon?
Secondly, if you can't see it above, if you copy and paste the link (see below) into the advanced reply box (by clicking the 'reply' button on the right hand side to switch to 'advanced reply' and paste the link into the 'Insert Image' icon, top middle of 'advanced reply' box, hover your pointer to find the right one), then click the BBCode button at the bottom left, then click 'create post' or click 'preview' to switch view back (either works for me), do you then see the photo?
And if you then refresh your browser (after posting it), does the photo disappear again? (that's what happens to me). Also if you could tell me which browser you're using that would be handy, I think this might be a forum bug, if so I'll be reporting it to the proboards support forum. So feed back from everyone here would be very useful, thanks  I use Firefox.
Btw betty and PipSqueak , although you answered me about the 1st point in the mod thread, you never got back to me about the 2nd point, if you could LMK here that would be handy .
Oh, incidentally, that's 1 of a few pics in the Gerbil FAQ > General care > How to sex you Gerbil, from a particular member (velcro), of which none of their photos are showing to me. And I assume to no one else?

I can't see it. If I try to post it using your instructions, I get the same missing image icon: ![]() The URL seems to disappear from the BBCode whenever I switch to Preview. I'm using Edge browser. No, I can't see the ones from velcro either. P.S If you need any more sexing photos for a guide, you can use the ones I posted in this thread if you want. |

Ok thanks. Hmm, on re-reading your 1st post on the 5th I'm confused by it, BBcode and preview are 2 different modes. When you switch back to preview (that's the default mode) from BBcode view, the link should disappear and be replaced by the photo. On the 5th when I was trying to post the image I would go to BBCode mode, insert the image using the image icon, then switch to Preview mode to see it. But it didn't come up, only the missing image icon. Then when I switched back to BBCode the URL would be missing from the line of code that usually inserts an image. Like this: [img src="" style="max-width:100%;" alt=" "]
Instead of this: [img src="http://www.bennyville.com/images/2008/gerbils/sexcheck001.jpg" alt=" " style="max-width:100%;"]However today the URL isn't disappearing but the image still won't post: |

With the image already inserted, but showing the broken link icon, if I go to edit, then switch the view to 'BBcode', and then back to 'preview' the picture then shows up! If I then click save (or post, whatever it is ) the photo still shows, but if I refresh the page the photo vanishes again and it shows the broken link icon. |

I just had a thought. Has it got something to do with the fact that it says 'sex' in the file name? Perhaps there has been a forum upgrade and certain words are excluded from being used/attached? Perhaps rename these and other threads to use the word 'gender' instead?  |

Interesting point, but it hasn't blocked your use of 'sex' there, also it's not listed in the censored words list. I was wondering if it had something to do with the hosting website? I can see your post of the photo just fine btw.

No sex in the post is fine - it was on the uploaded attachment that I thought could be the issue - well certainly me renaming it seemed to work?

Ah I see, well maybe, but I've not seen a separate filter in admin here for links, although that could be dealt with higher up the chain I suppose. I talked about the 2nd point in my 1st post here |

Tried the advanced post, but it appears as broken. I'm currently using Chrome for Android, but I might check it again in my desktop computer in the afternoon/evening and see if it shows any different. Btw is it possible that the domain bennyville.com no longer accepts hotlinking? It seems to be a personal website, so it would not be odd that the owner changed the privacy settings at some point. EDIT: Checked those broken images posted by velcro. They are all hosted in the same website. So I would definitely not disregard the hotlinking issue. |
