I sometimes pick her up to check on her because she sleeps often. However, she does get around alright to eat (however wobbly she may be). Yesterday, I discovered that if you stroke her (head, back, sides) she will drop everything, flatten, close her eyes, and pretend to be asleep. She'll sit there until I put her down or nudge her 'awake.' Is this a normal behavior? She is not a duprasi.

It is certainly unusual for a Mongolian gerbil to flatten and stay still for long periods when adult. Pups often do this when in new surroundings - but not always and not for more than a short window of time between weaning and homing. It was suggested that it was possible a mild seizure - like a fright freeze - but not indicative of repeat seizures of a life long illness.
Is this discussed on another thread somewhere as you used the phrase 'however wobbly she may be' as this could indicate something different entirely if it her permanent state.
