All was fine until mom had second litter so I removed the father and pups to avoid a third litter with this pair. I identified the one female pup and put her back with the mom literally within 60 seconds of removal. Mom immediately started chasing and attacking her so I took her back out. That was a few days ago. Now that the mom has calmed down do you think I should attempt a split tank type introduction to get the pup back in? She was the only female and I do not have another to pair her with.

Sorry - missed this one - how are things?
As for above, I would say no. Leave the mum be and wait for another pup to mix with the spare female with at some point. Mum with pups and another female lurking around might not go down to well.

I decided to not put the "female" back in. Oddly enough this baby turned out to be male 😂 he had nipples at a week old so I was pretty surprised to find that at 6 months there were no females! They all looked the same so I kept checking and nope, definitely all male. That's the first time we've had that happen.
