Hi, I’m not looking to breed gerbils. However, I’m having trouble finding a same sex friend for my female gerbil. I’m wondering if an old male could get her pregnant if I pair her with one for a while? I do have experience with introducing gerbils, so I’m not worried there. I just want to know if male gerbils become unable to breed at a certain age. If they do have pups, would any problems arise from the father being older? What age is considered old? Let me know, thank you.

Absolutely.
A male can sire a litter at any age. I know it isn't easy sometimes to find a perfect-match single - but a litter or two of pups instead isn't always ideal. Especially if they end up having 10+ pups spread over a couple of months...
Eeek!
