I had some gerbil wheels, but they were on the small side, and my boys chewed the plastic on the back so it wouldn’t stand normal, lol. I think I should get a new wheel or two, that is actually a good wheel that they can not chew. The plastic on it made me feel bad as well, but I assumed it would be gerbil proof and unchewable, but I guess it wasn’t. I’m looking for something safe for them (obviously) that is a good size so it won’t hurt their backs, but also one that is affordable. If it helps store wise I’m in America Thanks!

I was going to suggest tictac wheels, they're made from ally, but they're based in the UK, so no good for you

For me i took off my 9 inch wheel's stand in my gerbil cage and screwed it right on the cage because my gerbils kept knocking it over. Works really well and i got it for 10 dollars at a thrift store. Really affordable and still in it's packaging. The matereal was hard plastic and they have never tried to chew on it. I hope this helps!

A 9" wheel is a little too small for gerbils really.

My females are very small and struggle to push larger wheels so I tend to use 8 or 9” wheels but if they were bigger they would have larger ones

Interesting, when my boys were young they were reasonably easily able* to turn their 10" wheel, but it is made from aluminium, it's so quite light. What's yours made of? *apart from skidding on it, before I cork lined it.

So I’ve tried the 12” silent spinners and also bucket wheels similar to what hedgehogs use and those I was assured they’d be fine to use and they just couldn’t move them!

Now I'm worried I might have made a mistake in ordering a 14 inch Tictac wheel (Twiglet destroyed their wooden wheel and this one was on clearance). I hope they'll be able to turn it!

Nah I'm betting they can move that fine (once it's corked lined, they'll skid on it otherwise), tictac wheels are made from aluminium. Blake is kind of running an experiment for me, since Avon died he's had the full run of the cage (until the op anyway, currently he's in 'recovery' cage). It has both wheels in it, one's 10" the 12". I've noticed that he's run in both wheels, and doesn't seemed to have picked a favourite. That said, I'm not there all the time, so he may run more in one when I'm not looking. I so should have a movement detecting webcam to record his wheel activities properly! I see the 12" silent spinner weighs 815g (presumably just the wheel?), I wonder how much my tictac wheels weigh? I'll have to find out tomorrow. And I wonder how they compare to the Silent spinner 12".
