Thank you Andrea and gerbilmummy for your replies. It means alot. (((HUGS)))*sighs* 80% of me feels that it would be the humane thing to do for Billy. <shrugs> I dunno guys. When I picked him up tonight, boy she sure did vibrate ALOT to me while I was talking to him and rubbing the top of his head. He was vibrating more than ever before. And when I put him back into his tank, he readily accepted a yogurt chip from me and immediately brought it into his box to eat. He's alert and seems to be happy. So yes, I reckon I will still have Lee take Billy to vet with Bubby on Friday and see what she says to do. Here is what Billy looks like as of 30 minutes ago.

Sorry for signing in as a "guest". Actually, Lee sent my reply as he was trying to help me. I started replying back and then it was time to eat dinner so I left the post as it was and was gonna come back to it after I ate my dinner. I guess I got logged out. Anyhoo, he was trying to help me out with some things I was working on at once. Too many irons in the fire.
So yeah, I think that's what I'm gonna have Lee do on Friday-bring Billy to the vet with Bubby. I will keep you guys posted.

Hi gerbilmummy, I have bad news. Lee forgot to take Billy with this afternoon. He was running late for Bubby's appointment and saw that poor Bubby's behind was bleeding (that's another story for Bubby's thread). Anyways, as of tonight, Billy is still with us-still alert and eating. I feel so bad that he couldn't go to the vet today. But maybe it's just not Billy's time. I knew when it was time to put Bobby and Buddy to sleep just like Andrea said I would know. If Billy should get any worse or stop eating, I will most definately bring him to the vet myself as much as I'd rather not have to go through all that again. but I will do it because I don't want to see Billy suffer which I don't see right now. But then again.....see, I'm torn. Then again, I want to do the humane thing for Billy. *sighs* Thanks for asking, gerbilmummy.

Today Billy crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge. On Wednesday, I noticed alot of blood all over Billy's tissues. It came from his eye. I'm guessing that perhaps a blood vessel in his eye had burst. I could be totally wrong......but after that, his eye really wasn't an eye any more if that makes any sense. And even though Billy was still eating, drinking and wanting me to hold him, me and Lee both decided it would best if he was PTS. It was thee saddest thing I have ever gone through.

I'm so sorry Cinny. All of your animals are so lucky to have been adopted by you. If I was a gerbil, I'd want you as my gerbil mommy Jillie

Awww........Jillie, thank you for your kind words.
I think all animals deserve a good life no matter how small they might be. And I know that Billy is in a better place now. *sniffles*
It never an easy choice to make and sometimes Mother Nature can be so cruel. I just wish it would have turned out better for Billy.
RIP, Billy honey!

Soo sorry to hear about Billy but he's not suffering any longer. I've been reading about Billy and checking up on him. He's with all the toilet rolls and paper he's ever dreamed of.

Oh no, I'm sooo sorry Cindy - I really, truly am. We all knew it was coming, but it doesn't make it any easier. He really did have the very best care with you and it sounds like you definitely made the right decision - gosh that must have been so hard to cope with, seeing him like that. You are so brave. He's in a much better place now and back to his young, healthy self, and will always be with you in spirit.

Hi gerbilmummy!
Yes, I am feeling better. I know I did the right thing, it's just sad. Poor little fella never complained once. I can only imagine how he really felt.
I'd love to read about your Pres. What's e gerbil? Can you lead me in the right direction?
