well I'm sure your all sick of pics of my dipodils BUT today I went to clean out my second dipodil colony..1 boy and two girls fromt he previous litter. Well I had to abort the clean-out because:-- I saw three tiny pups...I have no idea how many there actually are and obviously returned them swiftly to mum and yes that is a penny

lol, children CAN be fluffy, my oldest daughter, born a week overdue was also covered in fine hair all over her body, especially her back. Her ears were so cute, with tufts on them like a little cat or elf! She is still quite furry! But she's now old enough to shave off the most offensive parts ( to her). I guess it's an odd genetic trait. I remember a cousin that was like that, too.

Well things where going too well. I wanted to check on my little dipodil pups...the 10 day old ones. This is what I found: small, dehydrated and lookign very sorry for itself I gave it a feed of lactol and returned to the nest, but mum removed the other two pups and left this one alone So I decided to try fostering. Grandma has three two day olds so I put the runt in: the runt is on the bottom, you can see his head is slightly larger than his foster siblings...but he seems to have settled with them and Grans accepted him.

The littlest dipodil: One of my F5 dipodils hasn't grown. When I found him he was seperated from the litter, dehydrated and very tiny. Mum wasn't interested in him. SO Grandma has her 3rd litter, 4 pups (though originally I thought it was 3) After giving him a feed of lactol I put the littlest dipodil with her pups. 2 days later and his foster siblings have grown, they are as big as he is. He has a full tummy and is active and being cared for but what the future will be for this brave little animal I don;t know.

I think that the future is good. He has a new mommy. He has a human that knows alot about his type and he has a full belly.

the foster pup...continued Here's some pictures of him. He is distinctly smaller and thinner than his litter mates. His tail is short and stubby. His legs are the same length as his true siblings. His head is out of proportion to his body. He is very active and adventurous, like his true siblings. His eyes are close to opening. Any thoughts? Edit: looking at the photos (on great thing about taling pics) I can see his body shape has changed considerably and he is looking much more in proportion than he did previously....must be a good sign !! One interesting thing about the f5s, including the runt, is that thye are very vocal, complaining loudly when I pick them up, not something I've seen (or rather heard) in the F4s. F5....eyes open
