Awwww, nice fat chubby tail! And I LOVE that pic at the end - the one upside down! ;D I'd love to have one of these cuties. Are they easy to find in the UK? I've never seen one in a pet store.

AHH!! The girl that had the thing come out of her just gave birth yesterday! This is weird.... She's the one in the first post.
It seems that she's just sleeping and the pups are at the other corner of the cage... It's been quite a while and she only nursed one... Is this normal? I don't know how a duprasi is supposed to act like when it's nursing.

Awwww! They are sooooooooooo cute - and you can see why they are called fat tailed LOL! ;D Unexpected babies huh? NibblesandDigger has had pups a few weeks ago but she's not been on the board for a while as she's moved house recently (Hello Alexe! are you there!!!) In the mean time I think Peter will certainly help you out Hang in there.... Caroline

You could send Peter an email - he's got it on his profile. He's not been on the forum for a couple of days, so that might be quicker.

Err... They're not exactly unexpected. She was already expecting but was overdue, so I thought she wasn't pregnant. Then suddenly ploop! Babies!
Anyways, remember I said she was only nursing one? She kept doing that and the rest died.... So now there's only one. When they were alive I did try to gently push the babies with their tissue lined on my fingers to the jar their mom was sleeping in. She tucked them all in and went outside to sleep at the corner. Apparently she only took one out from the jar later to nurse it, leaving the rest there.

Oh how sad (sorry got the wrong end of the stick there ) That's such a shame for you, but hey, at least you have one survivor!!! ;D Hope the little pup does well and keep us posted on it's development - oh, and a couple of pic's of the new arrival wouldn't go amiss!!! ;D Caroline

It's missing..... No more pups... Usually in breeding, if there's one pup, the chances of it surviving is very slim because one pup is not enough to stimulate the mamary glands and it won't get enough milk. This has happened a few times with my hams when they have only one pup left. So I didn't hold up much hope when she nursed only one.
