Heehee! They do seem fat. ;D
They look like they're dragging themselves along the ground...strange...
Are they young fat-tailed gerbils?

The picture in the middle are adult fat-tailed gerbils, the other two of younger ones! The one below the other two are the youngest! They are not really fat (exept fot their tail), but they have a very thick and very soft fur (a bit chinchilla-like)! But they are indeed somewhat flattened, comparing with Mongolians! They behave really different than Mongolian gerbils, their behaviour is more like that of Syrian hamsters (also known as goldhamsters). But I love them, they make great pets in my opinion!

What do you need to know? On the internet their is much contradictory information available! So now I will place as much information as I can on my fat-tailed gerbil page! My own experiences I mean. So if you have questions or comments, please post them! I'm also very interested in your experiences!

You need to find a breeder! Here in the Netherlands it is quite easy to find one! Many breeders have this species, even some specialized pet shops. Nut they are quite rare as pets in many other countries.

Not so strange as gerbils are very close related to hamsters. And especially fat-tailed gerbils.
