J, I found a really cool water bottle that does not leak. I keep it in a corner with an obstruction near it so they can not cover it with bedding. It hangs straight down. the spout does not point out so it is even harder to pack it. COuld you put a picture in here for us on your Bargain water bottle. I have to go around the area to find any thing. You can't find every thing you need in one store around here !!! Thanks. You said that they can bury it and it does not leak? Can they get water from it on it's side? It still works the same as if it is straight?

Umm I linked to the waterbottle I bought.. The plastic it's made with is really cheap..I just covered it so they couldn't chew it. Not sure what you were asking but.. it hangs straight down, but the straw part thing sticks out and they kick the bedding up to it and bury it.. It's not on it's side.. it hangs from the top of the tank.. They kick the shavings up to it all the way, the bottom half of it is completely covered and when they want a drink they dig up to it and get one. My other bottles used to leak when they tried this so I was always rearranging their bedding every single day.. Now I don't have to because this one doesn't leak. They can bury it all they want. ;D

That is really cool . One week, I had to change the litter every day because they kept burying the tip of the bottle and it would leak. The litter wouldcause the ball to roll up and let the water out. I now have a good water bottle that the tip hangs straight below it. I will try to get a picture of it. I can't get it at PetSmart but I got it at a pet shop. So far, I have not had any problems with it leaking!! Knock on wood.

I bought the little metal holder that protects most of the bottle; just the spout sticks out. Learned the hard way after they demolished the brand new larger bottle in one night; chewed right through the plastic cap, all the way around almost, so it dumped the whole 8 ounces into the tank. The holder has an added bonus of a thin metal strip on the back that swivels, so you can bend it where ever you need to in order to hang it on the tank. (The little wire thingie you get w/the bottle stinks for glass tanks; meant for wire cages.) J, you're right about the Critter Canteens! They're wonderful for the money. I was at a different store last week and bought one by a different company that looked similar. NOT! It supposedly has two balls in the spout that prevent leakage, but if the bottle is tilted slightly, it drips like mad! Gonna get a new one today.
