Depends on the crowd and if you have enough judges/interest... You'd have to get a few people to be judges/coordinators, and then also have quite a few kennels.... There aren't really any shows for gerbils up here in Alaska either, but I'm hoping to help spread them to places such as Washington...

Well, since florida doesn't have many gerbil breeders, i'm assuming there isn't many floridians that know about the AGS or gerbil shows or anything.

it would be............I think they had one rodent show doen here once. It was like some small orangization and it was a total rip off. They charged $10 bucks to get in, and once inside they had timeshare sellsman following ppl around. I don't think i ever even saw a rodent

Me and a few other gerbil breeders here in Virginia were interested in starting a Southern Gerbil show, but there didn't seem to be too much interest to have one down here. If we could get enough support and had judges back us we would be willing to coordinate the show.

I'd heard rumours about the beginnings of a Southern Show; I'm all for it. ;D Virgina is *much* closer than New Hampshire or Missouri. Gerbils just don't seem to enjoy as much popularity in the southeast, compared to the northeast and midwest.

I'm a AGS judge and judge in both the New Hampshire and Missouri shows. I'd love to attend shows in other places, like Virginia, if there were enough members to coordinate one (it would give me a good excuse to visit new places). If there are a half dozen active members that are within driving distance of a possible show site, they should get together and write a proposal for the AGS board. Maybe even hold a meet-up or a fun=mathc of planning (though I'd recommend a 30 day quarentine and health inspection even for a meetup). One good way to grow membership is to hand out the AGS brochures and a sheet on joining the society with adoptions. Donna - ABC Gerbils

I would be intersted in attending if a show was in Virginia. It is a much drive from Ohio to Virginia than to New Hampshire or Maryland.
