Here are the Forum Virtual Show 2008 Colourpoint Class results!
The overall quality was quite good this time, though no show stoppers like last year! Good effort everyone!
Lindsay's Xena is a 5-month old Burmese female. She is still quite small, and unfortunately I couldn't see her tail properly. She also is still in the final stages of her molt because she is so young. She seems tiny! She has pretty eyes, and a slightly greyish shade for a Burmese. Hope to see her next year when she has grown into her full beauty!
Nikki's Smudge is a 7-month old male Burmese. He is quite dark for a Burmese, and I wonder if he is Gg for that reason. He also seems to have a slightly shorter tail than normal. Unfortunately I can't really tell because of the way the tail was photographed. His coat is in good condition and he has otherwise nice features. He also needs bulking up a bit, so more sunny seeds for Smudge, please!
Nikki's Suki is a 10-month old female Siamese. She has a very nice colour and very pretty eyes. Again, as with Smudge, her tail seems shorter than normal, but it could be due to the angle it was photographed. Her fur is lovely and shiny, it looks in great condition.
Jill's Zo is a 7-month old Colourpoint Golden Agouti male. He is showing a bit of gold colour in his tail, and that will probably intensify as he ages, unless he carries Gg in which case it will stay as it is. He has a beautiful coat and striking eyes. His whiskers are lovely. He needs bulking up though to make a better placement next year!
Alejandra (Candemat's) Pancho is said to be an 18-month old Colourpoint Golden Agouti male. But to me he looks like a Grey Agouti! That could be due to the unusual dark ticking present in South American gerbils. At any rate he has beautiful almond shaped eyes, long whiskers and is an overall nice looking boy.
Alejandra (Candemat's) Nina is a 19 month-old Light Colourpoint Nutmeg female. Isn't she a beauty! It is a treat to see this relatively rare colour, and she's in great shape. She has very soft looking fur with a bit of the warm tones evident, with nice dark points. Her ears are a tad long, and her eyes are in between almond shaped and round. I would like to see a nicer tuft.
THIRD PLACEMENT:
Kate's Speedy is a 6-month old female Colourpoint Grey Agouti. She has a nice compact build, beautiful fur, good whiskers, eyes and ears. Her tail is nice and thick but it would be nice to see a distict tuft! Lovely gerbil.
SECOND PLACEMENT:
Judit's Eben is said to be an 18-month old female Colourpoint Slate, though she seems very brown to be so, and I think she is a Gg Burmese. Nevertheless she is very dark with good points. Her fur is in good condition and she has great eyes, ears and whiskers. Her tail is long and full, with a distinct tuft. Pretty girl!
FIRST PLACEMENT:
Vicky's Dusty is a 12-month old Colourpoint Grey Agouti male. He has an excellent build for his age and has an absolutely beautiful, even coat with the almost silvery colour that this type displays. He has lovely long whiskers, good oval eyes and an outstanding tail. I like his ears, too!
