My good friend, Heather at Hy-C Gerbils Clan has had 17 litters consisting of 79 pups with 17 different color combinations. If you are interested in any of these pups, you can email Heather at hycgerbils@gmail.com. I have adopted one of Heather's gerbils in the past and she was one of the sweetest and most beautiful gerbils I have ever owned. Heather is registered with the AGS and is located in Rochester, NY. Here is a link to her website: www.arborcounty.com/gerbils/Home.htm
Heather was involved in a Bike/Car accident and has a badly injured arm. This is making it very difficult for her to take care of her gerbils. Here is the email she sent me:
It’s been a real learning experience and lots of fun for me. However, I’m not able to continue breeding gerbils for the near future. I’ve just undergone shoulder surgery to repair an injury resulting from a bike-car collision last year. Cleaning cages is incredibly difficult one-handed. Since my balance is impaired by the sling and the meds, I can’t risk our favorite activity “shoulder surfing” anymore. L I’m writing you as fellow gerbil lovers to see if you, or anyone you know, would like my gerbils. They were the pairs I kept from the litters for future breeding, but I can’t care for them in my current condition. I have three pairs of 1-year old gerbils: female CP polar fox & spotted nutmeg (these were the rarer colors I was hoping to breed), female Siamese & spotted agouti, male Siamese & agouti. I’ve posted them on Craig’s List, but since these gerbils are extra special to me, I wanted to scope out folks who I know could give them a good home. Please let me know if you can help.
This would be a great opportunity for a novice breeder to get an established, healthy breeding pair from an experienced breeder. It's also a great opportunity to get some really nice and uncommon colors. In my experience, Heather's gerbils are as tame as they come, very sweet, and biddable. You can email/PM me or Heather if you are interested.
