Gerbil Housing Pictures IIWe have another thread, Gerbil Housing Pictures, but that dates back to Feb 2008! So we'll start a new one! This thread is for pictures only! No comment posts. This thread is for ideal setups only! - Lots of digging room.
- No Cedar shavings should be present (most of you I would think wouldn't use this!).
- No cages, no crittertrails/tube cages, etc.
- No plastic. Enclosures should not have plastic in them at all (silent spinners, other plastic wheels, proper built bin-cages, and shielded water bottles are exceptions! Just be warned, the former may get chewed! ).
If you post any of the "no-nos" above we'll delete them without warning. If a new member goes through these pictures and sees that they'll think "Oh cool! I'm going to put them in a all plastic cage! With a plastic hut!" And we all know what will happen to that! Also read this: Lets see great pictures of "IDEAL" set ups... lot of digging, no plastic... etc. I really wanna see your guys creative side show through....
Comment posts without pictures will be deleted without warning.

This is Toffee & Snickers latest home arrangement. 20 gallon long tank with Eco bedding. Their food dish sits on top of a reptile corner platform which has 2 stair step ramps to the top. It's hollow underneath and they like to sleep under it.

Wow blackwolf that's awesome. What kind of bedding is that?! Here's my current housing pictures (taken today) Pepper's Cage (with the new topper): AND Here's Evie's cage: AND They definitely don't look as elaborate as some of them but... it's what we've got for now

I should add Button and lewis's set up They were in a 20 gallon, 2 shelf perfecto but a few weeks ago got a big upgrade! A 4ft long tank from Ebay that cost me £10.50 ;D The lid and topper is an old hamster cage that only cost me £5 so we cut it up and made a nice big opening lid with a shelf for them to sit on. the topper also allows them to get from side to side as the tank was split into two. (note this is a very nice freshly cleaned cage. not so much like this now :

Here's an update on Evie's new set up. BIG difference due to her christmas present. For 1 gerbil it's ALOT of space but she had a great time digging around to find the wooden house and cardboard boxes

This is the cage as of about 20 minutes ago. It started off as newspaper shreddings, but I keep adding layers of other stuff, like Carefresh and Eco-Bedding and Orchard Grass. I have a big bag of fresh newspaper shreddings that I'm fully prepared to heap on top of the rest, lol. The tank is a 20gal tall. Not too elaborate yet, but the gerbils have been here less than a week, lol On the other side of the wood piece is their little house, what I like to call a "garage" ('cause that's what it looks like, lol). I like to put some orchard grass in the box on the top, and sometimes I sprinkle some food on top. Giacomo loves to hop in there and dig around for food. (these pics were taken a while ago, when I was going to use it for mice. Then the gerbils came and I realized they would love it)
