I've decided that I am going to stop posting on this thread for a few days whilst the gerbils have taken a turn for the worse- I would just like to say thank you for your kind comments whilst I've been hand rearing them; if any do survive or their health improves then I will make sure to post that and I will post pictures too-
Thanks once again for reading my updates & I will post if there is any improvement in their health x

I'm guessing it isn't going to be good news but have you got any updates?

Sadly- all of the babies did die, as soon as one of the babies health deteriorates, they all deteriorate and it happens so fast, it happened over night so I couldn't contact any vets, but mom is ok an doig well too - I do have more updates though so please keep an eye on this thread

Ok so I wanted to wait a while before giving you this news, snowy was pregnant when she had her first litter, and gAve birth to another litter of 7 I was very worried I would end up having to hand rear them again, the runt died at 3 days old and the 6 which are left are 17 days old. The dad was removed from the cage at least 2 weeks before their birth and snowy will not be having any more litters in the long run. In this litter I have 4 girls and 2 boys in which the girls are 2x brown agouti and 2x black and white pied. The boys are 1x grey agouti and 1x polar fox, I thought I would wait to post this as I was unsure whether this litter would survive but mum has done a brilliant job this time.
I will include pics ASAP x

Here's a picture of mom holding them at 2 weeks old, they're right little fatties and you can see that they are a lot healthier x

So two of them have opened their eyes at 16 days old (early aren't they, if I'm correct they don't usually open them until 18-21 days- that's a good thing though) the picture is of the boy- I thought he was grey agouti. But due to his fur and eye colour, I have defined him as a pink eyed lilac x
