The second Zilla is perfectly fine. Its probably one of the brands I see recommended the most. Personally I make my own lids so I can't advise totally. But I've seen it recommend.

Thanks; that's the one I ended up purchasing, along with the Petco brand cage locks. I'll see how they compare to the ones I currently have(Zilla brand, I believe). They look like the kind I prefer from back when I had snakes.

It won't be arriving until Monday but I'm hoping it's the same as their current one. I have a cat who likes to lounge on their tank soo.. it needs to be strong enough to hold his weight as well. The PetSmart one(probably the same as a Zilla cover) works great. I just hope the PetCo cage locks work well, too.

Looks like I'm a little late since you made the purchase. But the first r-zilla with the center hinge is a godsend for me. I don't have to remove the whole cover to feed, water, play with the gerbils or to do some spot cleaning. For me it makes things so much easier.
Edit to add: The mesh is pretty sturdy. Its a little thin but not that cloth like kind of mesh that bends with the touch of a finger.

If i can get the dimensions of my tank could someone please tell me which one would be ideal to buy. Been needing a new lid for boys tank because I can't hang anything from the one i had to make myself, plus if it could be sturdy enough to hold a wheel that would be great.

30 inches long 12 inches wide
Hope that helps. My boys really need a wheel in their tank, think they are looking a little chubbs. well one of them XD

You would need the same size as the one I just bought: www.petco.com/product/112185/Zilla-Fresh-Air-Terrarium-Screen-Cover.aspx?CoreCat=OnSiteSearch (the 29/20 gallon long size). PetSmart, Foster and Smith, and other sites had decent deals on it as well. If you can wait, PetCo/PetSmart have frequently changing online sales. When I got mine, I received 20% off the entire purchase and free shipping. They(PetCo) currently have $30 off of $100 and PetSmart has 15% off, I believe. I couldn't find an appropriate wheel when I adopted my guys so we decided to check at Walmart. They had a mesh-type wheel for around $4. I've attached it to the screen with twisty ties(zip ties also work) and oiled it with coconut oil(they were quite happy about that) and it's working out well.

And yeah, the screen arrived yesterday. I was pretty peeved as it was badly scratched and covered in dust from the warehouse. I haven't set the tank up yet but it seems to be the same screen as the one on my current tank. It does give a bit more as it's larger. Hopefully I won't regret not getting the one with the center hinge. One of my cats is quite fond of lounging on it, as the gerbils curiously sniff his toes.

Having to search on Amazon for what you suggested. I live in the UK so I have to find one that can ship to hear XD I should ask if it will make a difference if I have little glass sides near the top of the tank ? This is what I mean I can remove the black bits on the top, but I wonder if the glass is going to effect the mesh lid ?

Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot to ask if you were in the US. Oops. I have no idea what's available in the UK but I'm sure someone can make a suggestion. Maybe check local classifieds? I wasn't able to find one but I currently live in the middle of nowhere.
I don't think the glass will be a problem; at least from what I can see in the picture.

That's the exact one I came across XD I will order it friday. Its sucks that I can't wait that long to get it out before cleaning them out, but I will just have to add the new roof and wheel later ^^
Luckily I managed to find the other stuff i need for their cage and can get that sooner while I wait for this. So it shouldn't be too bad XD
