Hi I just got my first trio of females two days ago. I have been wanting gerbils for awhile now. I currently have hamster and guinea pigs. I love how active the gerbils are and they are up during the day. It makes it so much fun! Right now they are being fed Vitakraft Vitasmart Gerbil, mouse and rat food. Which i think isnt the best but at the time I did not know what to get and the store didn't have Gerri Gerbil. I will be ordering Gerri Gerbil food later this week. I hope the food is okay for now. They are in a 20 gallon long tank, I mixed carefresh with kaytee clean and cozy paper bedding which is really soft and holds it shape well. The girls tunnels are not collapsing which is great! Sometimes it defies gravity lol. I want to eventually at some point maybe upgrade to a 40 gallon breeder tank. I really like the size of those tanks. ..... or maybe a 29 gallon lol i just looked it up and 29 are the same size as my 20L but taller. I could use more vertical space. Anyways I will post some pictures. The pink bowl on top of their den is a sand bath / potty. I also have hay in the tank but it is orchard grass because that is what I feed my guinea pigs. They seem to like it. The back one is Eedie, agouti is Iza and the dove or lilac one (havent quite figured out which) is Sophie On the trip home One side of messy cage lol Other side with Iza looking like a little ground hog Tunnel fun

Well welcome to the forum and the life of a gerbil owner! Your girls look lovely, I've had 8 gerbils (all female) so far (going to get more soon) and they're definitely a wonderful pet! Looks like a great setup, must say I'm surprised they figured out tunneling that fast! Maybe its just my girls that can't seem to get the hang of it. Anyway have enjoy them!

hehe, they are cute. Same colors as my boys XD
Glad you are having fun with your girls. Your habitat looks nicely set up, same size as mine just with more goodies that I do. Hope you keep enjoying their company, gerbils can be a little mischevious from time to time. But they are a joy to watch and be with ^^

Hello, they look lovely! I'm new to gerbils too. Am smitten with my lone girl Riba ( she was fighting with her sisters), wondering why I took this long to be a gerbil owner! Enjoy your new friends!
