Hi everyone! I haven't been on the forum in absolutely ages. I miss it so much. Life's just been crazy recently. My family has still been having trouble with moving (if you've been keeping up, this has been going on for two years). Well, we finally have a date and time for closing - August 5th at 2:30pm! That's less than a week away! After we finally close on the house almost two months later than expected, we're going to do some minor things like paint, have the carpet steamed, clean everything (the people living in it now are slobs), and put up a fence for our dogs. After that, we're set to move in. Our furniture is coming on August 9th and we're planning on moving in that weekend!
I got a job at Mcdonald's (ew) and I've been working so much, on top of all the moving stuff. I still take care of my pets as I did before, of course, but I barely have time to do more than that (aka go on the forum as much as I used to).
Anyways, enough about me. The gerbs are all doing great, still. Alvin is still alive (what?). I don't know how he's doing it. The tumor is huge and yucky now, and it's really sad to see it getting so bad, but he doesn't seem to notice or care. I wish I'd had the money to have it removed back in February when I noticed it, but what's done is done. The best I can do now is keep spoiling him until the very end. His brother (Simon, of course) is still doing great and they're still best buddies. They've started this new thing where one of them (usually chubby little Simon) sits on the wheel to hold it steady while the other climbs up the mesh of it and chews the lid of the tank. They're so smart, it amazes me every day. Luckily there's no way they can chew through the lid of the tank.
Olaf is still living alone but that's going to change as soon as we settle into our new house. He does great on his own though, so I'm not in much of a rush (obviously). I actually have some sort of feeling that he might not do well with a friend, but we'll see what happens. He isn't a very social guy, and still runs away when I put my hand near him. He's so energetic and happy anyways, though, he just prefers to express it by himself!
I'm really looking forward to coming back on the forum regularly one things settle down. Moving is just a huge process for my family, especially when we're outnumbered 3:1 with animals! I can't wait to share the experience with you guys, though. I miss being part of this little community. I'll be back for good soon, I promise! <3
