While searching out if peas were ok for gerbils to ear, I cane across this site that had crazy percentages for a gerbils diet. www.thegerbils.com/maintenance3food.htmThese numbers seem astronomical !! Abd with such a simple .com name I'm sure their advice gets used often!!

The protein stats had me confused at first with gerbils because im used to hamster and they do need 18% so i almost didnt believe it when i saw how low some gerbils diets were!

Ah gerbil food confuses me :'D some people say that non breeding gerbils should have 12% protein and some places i read that 18% is way to much and then other places say 16% is right? im confused ;D xx

Basic guidelines:
Non-breeding adults: 12% protein, 6-8% fat Breeding adults: 15-16% protein, 7-9% fat Older gerbils (2+ yrs): 10-11% protein, 3-5% fat
Of course these are guidelines, and there is wiggle room.
