One of my two 2 year old boys has had a recurring bloody ear. First it was minor from fighting over water so I got two water bottles. They still fight over one for some reason like they don't see the other one there BUT ANYWAYS I just noticed today a few hours ago, Cliff was up out of the bedding and up saying hi so I walk over and he turns and fresh blood is running down his head from is ear! It looks like fur is missing a little but the shear amount me was bleeding compared to last time scared me and not I'm not sure what to do. Last time, I took them to a vet and by the time they got there a week later me was pretty much healed but I don't know about this time. I dont know if it's just from scratching or another fight. But right now, Diglet my second, is give Cliff a wash down. I'm not sure what to do if anything. Can anyone help me??

gerbils can bleed a lot and be fine, I would try to clean it up just with water on a qtip and if you have any manuka honey try that if you can see the actual sore in his ear. he may have an ear condition, one of my gerbils had it and lived for quite awhile with it. just be careful if it is far down his ear, only go as far as you can see. he could also have a burst eardrum but usually you see pus and blood with that, and my girl Zippy made noises before in her sleep as it bothered her abit, I took her to the vets for antibiotics and metacam and it helped her out. I hope Cliff will be okay.
Take care,
Tammy
