Hi,
I got my gerbils a couple of days ago and they seem to be doing fine except that one of them seems to be having runny/soft poos. I'm wondering if this is due to stress of new environment as he is lively (when awake) and seems to be eating and drinking OK.
I wonder if I started getting them out too soon?
Any advice greatly received!

What is it you're feeding them? I know water content in foods like fresh fruit can give them very soft stool..

I'm just feeding dry gerbil food. No fresh food as yet.

If food they're eating changed from what they were eating before you got them, that could cause it. Gerbil food changes should be made slowly, by mixing some new food with the old in increasing amounts until it's just the new food.

I believe it's the same food as they were fed in the shop - I was told it was anyway.
