So Luna and Bellatrix have been well, however, today as I was cleaning Luna's cage I saw that her stomach (scent gland) was bleeding. I am guessing that she has been suffering from a tumor and having never owned a gerbil before these two I have caught it too late. Now she has picked at it and I need help. She seems to be acting normally and she is eating and drinking as she usually would. She is also five years old or so and I don't think taking her to a vet would benefit her in anyway, I think it would just traumatize her. Ultimately I just want to keep her comfortable so any information on how to do that would be great. Also keeping to wound clean? Thanks.

Well, if you have never had a SGT before, it may not be one. I have had gerbils who had blood on their scent glands and never developed tumours.
I don't know how far away from you your vet is (or another experienced gerbil person) but it might be worth a second opinion.
If she is well handled, the journey isn't to far, and you have a decent sized travel cage that you put her cage mate in along with tunnels and stuff, she shouldn't get stressed going to the vet.
However, if all of the above usual routine stuff isn't actually possible, then all you can do is leave them as they are but just keep an eye on her. Check her weight every clean out if you can to make sure she doesn't lose too much in a short time, and check the bleeding doesn't get worse every time you get the chance to handle her.
You've got her to 5 years old as it is, so you are doing something very right...

Unfortunately there is no one who is near enough to bring her and no vet that has any experience with gerbils. The one I did find ended up not even know how to sex them. She doesn't seem to be losing weight but I will keep checking and I will keep an eye on the bleeding. Thanks.
