Hiya, I just got two new gerbil girls. One of them has a hurt back leg, I'm not sure how it got hurt, the breeder just said that they escaped the cage and then when they were all captured then she wouldn't put any weight on it.
Currently she seems to be able to put weight on it, but is still limping, this only happened a couple days ago, so it seems as if it is improving, so perhaps it was just sprained or something, I don't know if she would be improving this quickly if it was a break.
But as a new gerbil mom, I just want some reassurance.
She still ran on the wheel, and will stand on both hind legs, but just has a noticeable limp.
Do you think she's going to be okay? Do you think it's just a sprain, or do you think it could be broken?
