One of our guys is a strange colour, I couldn't see what he'd be on the thread of colours. At first glance he looks white, but he's not white, it's more of an off white or very slight grey, he has red eyes. He has noticeably longer fur than the rest, which can make him scruffy looking at times, it brings out the off white more. On the right: Second from the left: just out of bed:

He looks like a Sapphire to me from those pictures, which is a Red Eyed Black carrying a colourpoint gene. He is one shade lighter than a Lilac, and one shade darker than a Dove.

He's not lilac, we've had some before, they are a darker colour usually. On his own in the light you would say he was white. Having seen/had a white gerbil then he's not white. He's a single colour too, not like his brother. You can see his tail is the same colour right along in the first pic. I can't find a picture that doesn't look white or grey, here's a video of him that shows him better (the large cardboard box had just been put in because we'd run out of tubes, and they went a bit mental with it):

Dove is a much paler version of Lilac (paler again than Sapphire) i'd agree with the above Dove suggestions.

I must admit, I have never had a Dove myself as I don't have the gene in my spotted line, so I would go with the others on Dove as that is the consensus - he does seem to have a bluer tinge than my Sapphires? However, the colourpoint genes can be different shades in themselves as they are temperature dependent - for example, both the pups in this image are Sapphire: and both these are Sapphire: and this is one of them grown up:

Ok, somewhere between dove and sapphire. He does look very similar to those sapphire pics.

I have two sapphires right now and he looks just like both of them. . . Dove and sapphire are really hard to tell apart I guess.
