so i went away for the weekend and left the girls with for and water but when i came back sky was huddled up in a corner she is pretty unresponsive usually if i touch her when she is resting/sleeping she turns to see but she didn't move a muscle she is breathing but she seems to be breathing funny should i put her in an isolation tank or anything her sister dewy seems to be bugging her a lot and keeps walking over her digging under her and stuff when her sister bugged her she tried moving and she moved very wobbly i moved them into a 40 gal and they were happy as can be the vet is closed and i wouldn't be able to get to the vet till the afternoon (my parents would never let me miss school unless I'm sick) does any one know if she is ok or what she might have thank you and I'm sorry if i put this in the wrong place or didn't give enough info I'm nervous and really want her to be ok edit: i decided to move her into isolation it seemed like the best thing to do. the tank has a heat mat (it had reptiles in it at one point)should i plug in the heat mat so she can have some warmth? she seems super weak and I'm not sure if she will make herself a den

I would keep Sky with her cagemate. Dewey will keep Sky warm and provide some comfort/companionship. Even IF Sky has something contagious, then Dewey has already been exposed and will probably be treated as well, so there's really no point separating them.
Until you can get BOTH gerbils to the vet, keep the cage warm - heat mat is OK, but only heat one end of the tank in case it gets too hot for them. Make sure Sky has easy access to water and food. Try offering her some applesauce or fruit yogurt - good sources of water and energy for a sick gerbil. Give them plenty of bedding and some some shredded toilet paper - Dewey will probably build a warm nest around Sky.
This could be anything from an infection to a seizure or a stroke. If Sky looks better tomorrow, it's probably not an infection. Please update her condition tomorrow. Hope she makes it until you can see a vet.

So sorry about Sky. Dewey may need extra attention, so be sure to take care of her and yourself.
