Dear gerbfans! I've got a new litter of these two gerbs: Father (Spotted Black): aaCcbD-EeGgP- Sp+ Mother (Rex PEW): -achch---e-gpp Rex I don't know the colour of one of the pups. They seem to have black eyes here. My guesses from left to right: #1 Spotted Black Rex (rex not very visible in the picture) #2 Slate #3 Spotted Slate #4 ?? (Not sure, my guess is a Spotted LCP Slate or a darker looking spotted siamese.)

Based on your genes it will be a lcp slate, but also based on your genes, the mother would be a Himalayan not a PEW, in which case she could be P*
I think....

She is not a P-, she has pink eyes and is a PEW for sure (I have a fam-tree). The genes I posted were also describing a pew, or am I missing something?;p

I thought that chch were the genes for a Himalayan regardless of the eye gene. It's only the chchm and chmchm combos that make PEWs. I am not in a place to check this for sure tonight, but that is what I had thought before you just asked me, so now I am doubting myself a little bit.
Obviously Himis look identical to PEWs except they get a darker tail on aging. I suppose it depends on whether you know for sure her ch status and the partners P status. Have they had previous litters or have you got their genes from other siblings or their parents?

The pup in question is Sp LCP Slate. Any c[-]c[-]pp is PEW. It's only chchP- that's DTW.

Thanks for clearing that up Shooting Star, that makes perfect sense.
And if she has 2 pink eyed parents, then she defo must be PEW, and with 4 dark eyed pups, the dad could very likely be PP then. We will have to wait for their second litter for more stats.
Same goes for mum most likely being aa as no Agouti-side colours. I love the second litter process.
