Adding a topper to my gerbilarium (please respond quick XD)

I thought to post this in a different thread since its about something different. I had been originally thinking about buying the boys a larger fish tank to give them a little more to do. That plan backfired a little when the price of the bigger tanks was hitting the triple digits. If i had the money i would throw it at the computer, pay for next day delivery and move them straight in XD.

But instead i have been considering getting them another tank just for the topper to stack it on top of the gerbilarium i have. This is a cheaper option, but also more expensive than making it myself. Given that i will not go near tools its a wonder i have survived up to this long, but this is for my boys so its understandable ^^:;;

Right now this is what they are living in (excuse the mess ^^;;; )







The dimensions are 70x39x31


I was looking at some tanks on ebay and saw a couple that could be used as toppers to give some more height, and are roughly close to the dimensions of my current tank. I wanted to ask because i didn't want to throw the last of my money at something that wouldn't be good ^^;;;

Here are some of the ones i have found that are close to my dimensions. My measurements might be a cm or two off, but they wouldn't be more than that.

So.. yeah, i'm wanting to give them more to do when i'm not around, and i believe a topper would be great for them. So if you have any ideas where i could get a topper, or know any hamster cage toppers that would be ideal, please, please let me know so i can get them something more as soon as possible.

We have had a lot of people asking about tank toppers recently - perhaps read back though some of the earlier threads on toppers and check out some of the tips already given to others.

I presume you can attach any cage to a tank that isn't wider or longer than your tank by making a frame that it sits in it? Perhaps you could make a frame for your gerbilarium top which I seen others do before.

If you want custom-made ones then you will need to read the other threads about whether they are even made and, if so, by who.

I have seen other people use the gerbilarium topper on their tanks, but you would need to make a new lid for the tank.
